The cue this month is Flora and Fauna. What a great way to start the month thinking of nature and all that inhabits our earth!
I immediately thought of these stamps when I heard the cue! It is actually a holiday set but thedeer can be used for anything. The expressions on their faces are so sweet. I have been seeing many clean, simple cards with little color being posted. I love them so much, I thought why not make one?! I resisted adding anything but the twine and the jewel. I stamped one deer off the edge for interest.

This floral image caught my eye when it first came out. It reminds me of my garden and some of the tightly packed flower blossoms I have growing. Double azaleas, roses and peonies... A sympathy card is not a card any of us like to make but I am hoping this floral image brings warm memories. It is wonderful for all occasions.
Supplies I used
My Condolences by Angie Blom for Unity Stamp Company
A beautiful gold embossed butterfly on dark gray with metallic paints. This is my first time using the paints and they are magical! The photo is taken from this angle to capture the beauty with the light hitting it in just the right spot.

Supplies I used
I never get tired of seeing butterflies
Highland cattle are one of my absolute favorite animals besides dogs of course! I love everything about them and their long bangs are so carefree and happy. The sentiment is awesome too. I used distress oxide for the leaves. If you haven’t tried these inks, they are amazing on dark cardstock. I fussy-cut the cow to add depth. It boldly stands out!
Supplies I used
Take No Bull by Tierra Jackson for Unity Stamp Company
One more card. I used Versafine ink for the leaves. I used winter white embossing powder for the sentiment.
And another card, I created the leaves by inking them up and spritzing with water before stamping on paper. I used pearl embossing powder and probably heated it too much so it lost the detail. I still love it so I wanted to share it. I have to say it kind of reminds me of a wooly mammoth!
Here are my three Highland cow cards. Just for fun, which one do you like the most?!

Wow were you busy! Wonderful cards! The expression on those sweet deer faces are so precious! I love the font of the Condolances stamp, especially since I usually cut off the I of sentiments, usually We are sending love, thoughts and prayers. Have never seen such a wooley cutie… look soft and mean though, tee hee. I like the embossed one, I think I can see his eyes through that mane. I like him under that viney tree. Great cards. 🎈Happy birthday Unity.
Awesome cards. Those deer are my favorite. The looks on their face is priceless. lol Cute design and love how colorful it is as well as the elegant gold embossing.
You truly created some stunning cards. Definitely hard to pick a favorite. The butterfly card is spectacular. Another stamp set to add to my ever-growing wish list LOL
Spectacular cards! WOW! You got your craft on!! LOL
I don;t know where to begin! I love the Holiday Deer card the most, but each card is great in some way! The oxide leaves are awesome, too!
Thanks for the inspiration
Wow Rachel so many awesome flora and fauna cards!!! I love cow #2 and would be interested in knowing how you did his fur. I read it several times and didn’t see a description but maybe I missed it. It looks so real!!
Thank you Vanessa! For the second cow card I used a blend of brown inks smooshed on an acrylic block and I watercolored with them. I mostly tried to get dark shading around the nose neck and ears area. I didn’t color in too much just enough to show some depth.
You did such a wonderful job with all those gorgeous cards and that butterfly with the metallic paints has me in awe! I love the variety , and that Highland bull makes me laugh with his bangs!
Wow! You made so many fabulous cards! I love your first one, as I received the deer on the left as a freebie at some point so it was great seeing it in action! I love your gorgeous butterfly card – so pretty! And I love all three of your “hielan coo” cards – they remind me of the trip to Ireland and Scotland my hubby and I took before we had our three crazy kiddos…a short 17 years ago! 🙂
Fabulous work on your
cards! Love the Butterfly
and the floral Cow card.
